How to share your project location
Give the property location and project scope when you contact YKCA, and check permit jurisdiction separately.
THE KEY POINT
A clear property location helps start the conversation; service availability and permit jurisdiction require separate confirmation.
Start with the property location
When you contact YKCA, include the city or community where the work will take place. If your mailing address is different, make that clear. For multiple properties, identify each one separately so their locations and needs are not combined.
Location is a starting point for a conversation, not a confirmation that a project can be accepted. Ask about availability for the specific property and work.
Describe the property and work
Explain whether the property is a home, multifamily building or commercial space, and describe what you would like to change. Mention useful constraints, such as occupied areas, building management requirements or dates that affect access.
If you are still exploring options, say so. If you already have drawings, permits or equipment selections, mention them in your message.
Check permit jurisdiction separately
A mailing city and the agency responsible for a parcel can differ. Incorporated and unincorporated locations may follow different permit routes. The property location alone does not establish which agency has jurisdiction.
Use the parcel location and proposed work when asking the appropriate agency which process applies. Keep the agency’s response with your project notes.
Make the inquiry useful
Use the Contact page to share the property location, project description and your contact information. For a business or managed property, the Contact page also offers a business inquiry option.
Confirm the scope, access and scheduling directly as the conversation proceeds.
Keep the next steps clear
| Step | What to record | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Locate | City or community | Give geographic context |
| Describe | Property and scope | Check practical fit |
| Confirm | Access and jurisdiction | Plan the next step |

Your checklist
A useful question
Does giving my city confirm service availability or permit jurisdiction?
No. Include the property location and scope in your inquiry, then confirm availability with YKCA. Check permit jurisdiction separately with the appropriate agency.
