Building performance and documentation
Title 24 & CALGreen Coordination
Bring energy and green-building requirements into the construction plan.
Envelope details, equipment selections and construction documentation need to agree with the design. We coordinate the applicable requirements with the project team so they can be carried into procurement and field work.
Project scope
Connect the documents to what gets installed.
California's Energy Code is in Title 24, Part 6; CALGreen is the green-building code in Part 11. The applicable provisions depend on the project and jurisdiction. The California Energy Commission states that permit applications submitted on or after January 1, 2026 must comply with the 2025 Energy Code. Confirm the project's applicable code edition and local requirements with the responsible professionals and reviewing authority.
Project requirements
Identify the applicable energy and green-building documentation with the design team.

Confirm
Establish the applicable documents and the people responsible for preparing them.
Coordinate
Check selections and substitutions against the design before materials are ordered.
Document
Keep installation and verification records organized for the next review milestone.
Questions before we begin
Title 24 & CALGreen Coordination: project questions
Ask about your project ↗Are Title 24 and CALGreen the same thing?
Title 24 contains California's building standards. The Energy Code is Part 6 and CALGreen is Part 11. They cover different requirements that need to be coordinated within a project.
Does every listed measure apply to my property?
No. New construction, additions and alterations can have different applicable provisions. The project team needs to determine the requirements for the specific scope.
Can equipment be changed after the design is prepared?
A proposed substitution should be reviewed against the design and relevant compliance documents before purchasing or installing it. A similar appearance does not establish equivalent performance.
